I have decided that my Island of the Year is— obviously— Bali.
I took these photos on my usual walk one morning to the beach.
Just like music, street art is such an instant source of joy.
If you look at art, if you really look at art, you’ll find doorways into the mind of an artist.
I don’t take these doorways for granted, especially that I know expressing oneself can be gruelling for some individuals.
Just like creative blocks, humans, in general, experience these obstacles to their truths engulfed by fear, their current environment, or recollections from past experiences.
I think once an artist starts to paint or draw something, it grants their real thoughts and feelings to unfold.
In my experience, you reach that certain point in the creation process where you simply just want to be heard. Even if it isn’t meant for the entire world at all.
Sometimes you purely want to do it for you alone, too.
Like some form of acknowledgment or surrender.
