There aren’t jelly fishes washed out on the shores of Koh Samui, so I can say now that this experience is unique to my Krabi visit back in April, where there’s a massive influx of these creatures on sight.
There were jelly fishes in Kata Beach, Phuket, but not as numerous as this.
I’ve learned that they usually put fish nets to keep the jellies from getting near. The only time I got surprising sting every now and then was when I was swimming in Nai Harn. But I loved the water so much I just swam in different directions away from those stingy zones.
So if you’re swimming at the beach, follow the beach rules (flags) to prevent jelly fish incidents.
As far as the main beach in Ao Nang is concerned, I didn’t swim at all. It’s not my kind of water and sand. I went to look for other spots and yes I did find that mini lagoon I was previously writing about.
I was amazed to see these creatures out of the water. And how huge they were! Another reason why I decided to simply let them be in their natural habitat and not join the swimming fun or there will be electric kinda bites here and there.
