Have You Tried?

Last Sunday’s book reading highlight is this guy’s list of “WHAT IS NORMAL?

In context, he doesn’t live a normal life anymore and has this list (with answers taken from people whom he’d asked) to remind himself of what is normal.

I think at that point, more out of curiosity, but not so much as to becoming like everyone else again. Which for me—  is what’s normal.

Here are my favorite from the list:

WHAT IS NORMAL?

🍄 Normal is anything that makes us forget who we are and what we want; that way we can work in order to produce, reproduce, and earn money.

🍄 Believing that power is much more important than money and that money is much more important than happiness.

🍄 Never asking a direct question, even though the other person can guess what it is you want to know.

🍄 Believing that art is either worth a fortune or worth nothing at all.

And last, but not the least…

🍄 Always saying “I tried” when you didn’t really try at all.

From my current read: “The Winner Stands Alone” by one of my favorite authors, Paulo Coelho. I’ve had this book in years, but I think I haven’t “really” read it. And for some reasons, its title always resonates with me, hence I’ve picked it up from all my other books.
