Grounding

Sketching a piece that depicts “Grounding;” with hints of being strongly rooted yet graceful.

It’s the start of  a new season for me and quite one that I look forward to craft.

What did I learn from my recent experiences and from others?

Healing doesn’t indeed take place in isolation or in hanging around familiar people and places. It’s when we’re out of that comfort zone or that periphery that broke us to begin with. When we’re facing fresh situations that all of a sudden trigger our fears and traumas or those that challenge our beliefs, norms, ego, and sense of control.

Only then will we find out if we’re indeed successful in expanding our capacities to overcome or work with these situations. Or we’re in fact true to our ideals— in helping others, perhaps, or in contributing to overall harmony and well-being.

Doubts never go away. Fear never goes away. It’s how we keep things open not build walls around them or only focusing on having things our way all the time.

I find transparent communication not only healthy, but also trustworthy. Saying what you want to say to that person involved in the situation, no matter how hard, or you can’t find the words versus telling your friend, your ex, the Grab driver, the waiter at the club, or the fucking entire neighborhood before that soul who, for sure, deserves to hear it first.
