My Favorite Art Lately: Freedom in Sunlight and Saltwater. Or… maybe it’s been that way for a while now.
There’s something about swimming under the open sky, sunlight spilling over the water, that feels like pure freedom.
These recent photos of me at the beach aren’t mere snapshots of a sunny day, they’re quiet declarations of what I value now.
During the pandemic, I often said in interviews how much I missed art shows, how I longed for the energy of an exhibit. That used to be my measure of an artistic life.
But something shifted. The long months of lockdown taught me that being an artist isn’t confined to walls, white lights, and opening nights. And when I discovered digital art in the crypto space, the idea of “where” art happens became even more limitless, though that’s another story.
Now, my art spills into the outdoors, into how I live, where I travel, and how I choose to spend my afternoons. Swimming through the ocean feels as much a part of my creative life as drawing or painting… just another way of inhabiting the world with curiosity, sensitivity, and presence.
Art doesn’t only exist in a gallery.
Sometimes, it’s sunlight on water.
Sometimes, it’s the simple joy of feeling completely ALIVE.
And after everything I’ve been through, I can’t imagine a better art experience than this.
